As we were celebrating the Coronation in May, we deferred our Annual Meeting to June. Members received reports from the President, Treasurer and the Committee on the previous 12 months. The Committee Report took the form of a powerpoint presentation of our activities; it was fun to look back at all the many different things we got up too.
As is usual at the Annual Meeting, the Committee stood down so a new Committee could be elected. Unsurprising all previous Committee members were re-elected and Jenny was voted our President for another year; we have encouraged members to come and visit our meetings in the hopes more may be encouraged to join. As in previous years, Eckington WI did their own version of Walk the World with a walk down to our local lock at Strensham. A gentle stroll down with refreshments at the lock - much to the surprise of one set of narrowboat holiday makers! They were impressed to find a random bunch of women in the middle of nowhere (or so they thought) sitting down to tea and biscuits ...
A sunny weekend saw the village thronging with visitors. As well as exploring gardens, visitors were able to see the glorious displays in the Church. As well as our own display, several members were also involved in other displays.
